In spring, the plant springs back to life with hundreds of pea-shaped flowers in dusky pink with red and yellow lips. Nothing else looks quite like it, and it is especially when paired with colorful spring blooming bulbs like daffodils, tulips, and crocus. Scotch broom loves sunny, dry conditions, which these bulbs also like, so pairing them together works visually as well as horticulturally! After blooming, wiry green stems are covered in tiny leaves, which provide a unique textural effect. We do not recommend this plant for the Northwest.
